Teaching Civics!

 

Hello and welcome back! I recently read about civics and how important it is when teaching social studies. civics is the rights and duties of a citizen. I think it is super important to teach this in the classroom because everyone has a right no matter how old. Chapter 11 speaks on how important it is to start teaching this at a young age. YOu can start teaching this by introducing the government and how it might be run. I think a fun way to help teach this lesson is to model the branches of government and show the children what it is like to be a part of it. You can split them up into groups and make them each a separate branch!
