Second Lesson!

 

Hello Hello everyone! I have now taught my second lesson of the semester and it was definitely interesting. We had a few technical difficulties but this had taught me that I need to have a thought out plan B. If you do not plan this ahead of time you might not be able to get your lesson on track as quickly. For this lesson, it was the same theme, Lewis and Clark, but a different type of lesson. The lesson we taught today was a cooperative lesson. This type of lesson is more of a collaborative lesson between the students and less teacher input. The students did great with this activity today. We started with an opening question and got right into it. The students then were placed into groups and given the task to take their own individual packing lists and create one master one. They loved doing this and came up with some great ideas. They then were able to share quickly and then work on the individual piece of the lesson. Lastly, they were given the task to write a card to their principal taking about facts they learned and what they would pack on their journey. I think this lesson had great potential if it was not for our technical difficulties. I hope to have a lesson go better next time but I still feel the students worked great together and had a lot of fun!
