Models, Strategies, or Methods..Which One??
| Models, Strategies, or Methods? How are they the same or how are they different? |
In this post, I am going to chat about the benefits of these three keywords: models, strategies, and methods! Here is the rundown of why I think it is beneficial for all three to appear in your planning as a teacher and why they are different from each other. Models are the broadest level of instructional practices. They are used to give structure and to strategies methods skills and activities. Strategies determine the approach the teacher might take to achieve the learning goals for the day. It could be directed towards the class directly or it could be a mental note for the teacher. Then lastly there is methods. A method is the specific way of creating a learning environment that will benefit the activity. This is the way to get the students involved within the lesson. I feel that they all are similar to where they want to achieve the same goal. All three goals want the student to succeed on the topic being taught. I also feel that these are similar because they are all the pre-prep and thought before the lesson is delivered to the students. With models, strategies, and methods you have to give a reason why you think it will work along with reasoning of why it will benefit your lesson. Pre-planning is important in a classroom because you make sure to have your lesson down to a science to then see the results. So what do you think is the most important...Models, Strategies, or Methods?
