Out With The Old And In With The New?

What Do You Think When You See This Picture?

Technology is the new wave of life. Writing this blog I am currently typing to you through our technology. Technology is taking over our classrooms every single day. What does it take to really make the switch? There is a lot of things that I notice in this cartoon. First, When looking at this poster my eyes are immediately drawn to the boy's thining bubble, "If you followed me on Twitter, you'd know". It shows the shift from two different worlds: old school to technology. It shows how badly children in this day are so wrapped up in the technology that is provided to them. Secondly, in the poster, you can see that there is a teacher that looks a little older in age. In her hand, she is holding a writing assignment that says to write what you did over the summer. I feel that for children this should be an easy task to write what they did over the summer on a piece of paper or a writing assignment. Even if it was posted on their social media they should be able to take events and write on old-fashioned paper. Although this is the world we are living in we should still be able to do the traditional things like writing a paper or signing a document. I feel for these students we need to have a healthy balance between technology and paper. We need to practice both ways and not just one!

Now that I rambled on the question still stands... What do you think about this picture?!
Let me know what you think :)
